Frequently asked questions (Q&A)
The key answers around the Renault and Dacia radio code. Can't find your question?
What is a Renault radio code?
The Renault radio code is a four-digit security code that protects the car radio against theft from the factory. If the radio is disconnected from power – for example during a battery change – it asks for this code before it plays again.
How do I find the precode of my Renault radio?
On button radios you hold station buttons 1 and 6 (alternatively 1 and 5) for about five seconds until „PRE" and a four-digit precode appear on the display. Alternatively the precode is on a sticker on the removed radio housing.
How much does calculating the radio code cost?
The calculation costs a one-off €5. You only pay after entering your vehicle and precode, and you receive the code immediately afterwards.
How quickly do I get my Renault radio code?
Instantly. Right after payment the code is calculated and shown on the page – no waiting and no appointment at a workshop needed.
Does the calculator also work for Dacia?
Yes. Dacia models such as Sandero, Logan, Duster, Dokker and Lodgy use the same radio technology as Renault. For button radios the code can be calculated from the precode in the same way.
My radio has a touchscreen – can I calculate the code too?
Touchscreen systems such as MediaNav, R-Link or Easy Link are database-bound and cannot be calculated from a precode. Only the Renault/Dacia dealer or a code database can help here.
